Autumn Collapse is on standby...

Posted by Autumn-Collapse - July 1st, 2011

Alrighty, so here's the breakup of what's going on.

Good News:
-Dan, the drummer, has officially joined us for good. We will still probably end up keeping the same variety of music genres that we play, so there's good news for that. Dan brings to us a new style of drumming and a new feel to our songs that TOTALLY beats a drum machine!
-New bass strings came in, and the bass sounds awesome with new strings. So much crisper and cleaner. Then again, the other strings were used for about 4+ years before we changed em.. Why do bass strings have to be so expensive?
-We play well together.
-We are now underway with creating a collab album with KKSlider60, combining our interesting style of acoustic, ambient, rock/alternative music with his electronic. This will be an interesting outcome...

Bad News:
-Dan (drummer) and Zach (bassist) are on vacation. Mikey (me, guitarist) is the only person who is at home readily available to make music currently. They will be back next week or so, after July 4th. Hopefully we'll be able to go back to steadily making music.
-Dan can only come and rehearse with us twice a week, which will be on Wednesday nights and Friday mornings. This will put a small limit on how much progress we can make within one week.
-With three people, it's going to be a little bit harder to make a song that the whole band is satisfied with. Hopefully we won't have too many clashing ideas or conflicting tastes while creating songs.
-We're still short on money. :(

Other than that, we're steadily making progress. We live in the Broomfield, CO area, so hopefully by the end of this school year, we'll all be good enough musicians to go perform at something they have here called the Broomstock (gathering of new upcoming bands and concert to celebrate end of school year). Look out for Autumn Collapse!
